Opportunities

On December 11, 2018, a meeting was held among key community stakeholders (representing county and local public health officers, community and business leaders, social service providers, as well as internal stakeholders of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital) to review, evaluate, and prioritize health issues for children in the community, based on findings of the 2018 PRC Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).

This process yielded the following prioritized list of community health needs:

  2. Access to Healthcare

  3. Nutrition, Physical Activity & Weight

  4. Prenatal & Infant Health

  5. Diabetes

  6. Asthma & Other Respiratory Conditions

  7. Injury & Safety

  8. Substance Abuse

  9. Sexual Health

  10. Potentially Disabling Conditions
